Combined Services Disabled Ski Team

Tuesday 21st February 2012

We are pleased to announce that we are continuing our support to the Combined Services Disabled Ski Team to include the 2011/2012 season. As well as being one of the principle sponsors providing funding to the team, we also support the athletes with the provision of technical support. Our engineers have been delivering a programme of improvement focused on the performance of the suspension fitted to the athlete's sit-ski rigs. Using motorsport derived on-board data logging technology we have been able to analyse the performance of the suspension system and make recommendations for improvements that are having a very real impact on the results. Supacat's Head of Marketing and Comms, Jamie Clarke said" we're really pleased with the progress we've made since our involvement with the team started three years ago. We now have the sit-ski athletes fitted with state of the art custom built suspension units and our on-snow data logging sessions have allowed us to fine tune the configuration and settings for optimum performance. The athletes also now have a direct line to our experts and can call for support and advice when they are at the races. However, we're not there yet and our technical development plan runs right up to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi delivering incremental improvements along the way. We're all very proud to be involved in such a worthy cause".

One of the team's premier athletes, Mick Brennan was recently placed 3rd at the Austrian National Championships. This is a fantastic result and a real sign of things to come. All at Supacat wish the athletes the very best for this season and look forward to some impressive results from all those involved.
