History

Where have we been?

Supacat is one of the UK's leading independent developers of high-mobility vehicles and other land transport systems for specialist use. Established in 1981, we have been developing specialist vehicles and other equipment for our civil and military customers ever since.

Supacat's range of off-road and tracked vehicles has continually expanded and improved in response to new, more demanding requirements for high mobility, cross-country capabilities.

Based in Devon, England, Supacat is ISO 9001:2008 certified and delivers all the disciplines of vehicle design. These include engineering, testing, prototype manufacture, certification, low-rate production and fleet support.

The Supacat 6x6 All-Terrain Mobility Platform (ATMP) is now in its third generation. It exemplifies how we apply mechanical engineering simplicity to produce a straightforward, inexpensive solution to a specific customer need. There are currently more than 200 ATMPs in service around the world.

Supacat is well known for developing solutions to unusual customer requirements. During the late 1990s for example, we designed and developed the High Mobility Transporter (HMT) to meet mainly military needs for a light to medium load carrier. We now manufacture the HMT under licence from Lockheed Martin.

The HMT is being produced in 4x4, 6x6 and convertible ‘Extenda' configurations. All variants have quickly built up a reputation as formidable off-road vehicles and are in use with specialist forces worldwide.

In addition to Supacat's many years in specialist vehicle development, we have developed and produced other effective engineering products such as glider winches and modified skidoos.
